Used 1 meter (100 cm) Mt John telescope.
Saw Saturn Jupiter Mars M22 M42.
13.00 Saturn. Cassini division v clear inner grainy ring (?), 2 bands on planet & shadow.
No improvement using blue filter.
14.00 Mars. Big clear image, low contrast using 32mm ep on 13.5m fl.
Magenta filter gave best contrast & colour.
M22 large clear well resolved.
18.00 found 6 star in Trapezium incredible motley detail in M42.
Jupiter 2 belts easy, some detail polar zones yellowish, belts brown, rest whitish.
