I went to Wanaka this weekend to work on a database project for a private client there. I drove up on Saturday morning and came back on Sunday night. I took one of my favourite roads, through the Maniototo - its about a 3 hour drive to cover the 300 kilometers.
There had been a bit of colder weather in the area so there was plenty of snow around. I had to slow down a bit when driving over the higher parts of the Pigroot. The Maniototo was fine and it was fine cold and crisp in Wanaka, itself.

You didn't go too fast did you? Taking only 3 hours is quite fast!

Well, let's see: 300 kilometers in 3 hours. That's 100 kph, the speed limit in NZ, so all good! Thanks for your concern.
