The Sun

Entry 16, on 2004-08-13 at 14:08:17 (Rating 1, Science)

I just observed the Sun through a solar (hydrogen alpha) telescope and a conventional telescope equipped with a filter.

There was a very impressive sunspot group with about 40 individual members in it shown very nicely by the Meade 90. The solar telescope showed an impressive prominence as well as many smaller ones.

We need to find a way to use these 'scopes for photography so we can record some of these images. Might keep a look out for aurorae as well.
