I flew to Australia today. I'm going for almost two weeks to explore Central Australia and observe the transit of Venus from there. I left Dunedin and flew for three hours to Melbourne.

Melbourne is quite an impressive city, but the weather wasn't up to the standard we would normally expect from Australia - it was quite cold.
