Cannot add Ricoh SP3510 printer

Note: this is a "vintage" tip for older systems.

If System Prefernces on 10.11 freezes after clicking "Add" for a Ricoh SP 3510 DN printer, try entering a queue name or upgrading the firmware on the printer (this can be done from Mac). Alternatively, wait about an hour for the add function to work!
