Sagittarius (4)

This is a 30 second exposure, taken on 5 July 2016. That's the middle of winter in the Southern Hemisphere, so the sky was fairly dark, but not as dark as i would like because of street lights.

The camera was a Canon EOS650D, set to ISO1600, and the lens was a Canon 50mm II at its widest aperture: f/1.8. The exposure was 30 seconds, with some tracking was done - but not very well as you might be able to tell!

The constellation Sagittarius is in the direction of the center of our galaxy, so there is a lot of nebulosity there. You can easily see the Milky Way itself, with bright nebulae, M8 Lagoon Nebula, near the bottom-center, and M20 Triffid Nebula, about a third of the way from the top and left. There are plenty of other objects there too, including other nebulae and globular clusters.
