Taylors Shiraz 2021

Name:Taylors Limestone Coast Shiraz (975)
Variety:Shiraz (17)
Producer:Taylors
Region:Clare Valley

I tasted the 2021 vintage of this wine on 29 Jun 2024 when it was 3 years old and gave it a rating of ok.
The colour was medium-deep red. The bouquet had sweet jammy spice, and vanilla wood. There was berry fruit, chocolate, and a medium dry tannic finish. This wine had medium body, and was quite fruity with moderate wood balance, and medium complexity.
I tasted the 2019 vintage of this wine on 20 Feb 2022 when it was 3 years old and gave it a rating of ok+.
The colour was medium ruby red. There was a strong spice and fruity berry bouquet. The flavour had full berry fruit, liquorice, firm medium oak finish. This wine had good fruit and wood balance, medium to full body.

Note 1: I am not really a wine expert (just an enthusiastic amateur), so please don't take my recommendations as anything more than a rough guide to these wines. I can take no responsibility if you buy a lot of this particular wine, on my recommendation, and then regret it!

Note 2: You may not fully agree with my evaluation of these wines, as a lot of this is quite subjective. I tend to put a lot of emphasis on complexity and intense characteristic and varietal flavours and bouquet, so if you disagree you might just have different priorities.
