Kata Tjuta

Entry 41, on 2004-06-02 at 22:53:12 (Rating 1, Travel)

This entry is from my trip to Central Australia. We visited Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) today and left just before sunset. As the sun set we watched from a distance to see the famous colour changes.

This took about an hour and just as the sun was setting a full moon rose, just behind the mountains. It was just an awesome experience! The sky was almost perfectly clear and as the sun set the Earth's shadow gradually crept across the desert and up the mountains, then onto the clouds on the horizon.

Sunset on Kata Tjuta was the best part of this Australian trip, and I got some of my best photos ever here. If you are ever in Central Australia make sure you see this!

Wow, that's awesome! I really want to visit that area and have a look too but I have never been to Australia yet. I really like your photo too. Nice work!
