Use this for models which contain the T2 chip... MacBook Air 2018 and later. MacBook Pro 2018 and later.
Shut down the Mac. Press the power button and hold it for 10 seconds. Release the power button. Wait a few seconds. Press the power button to turn on again.
If this doesn't fix the problem, try this... Shut down the Mac. Press and hold these keys: right shift, left option, left control for seven seconds. Continue to hold these, then press the power button for another 7 seconds. Release all the keys. Press the power button to turn on.
