Plain and Mountains

The mountains (the Kakanui Range, I think) taken from the road between Ranfurly and Palmerston, before reaching the Pigroot road that winds through the hills before reaching the main road south.

The mountains in this photo are fairly distant so the colours are faded producing a softer effect. Also the sky nearer the horizon is a lighter, less intense blue. Overall, this is a more subtle example of the blue and gold Central theme. This is a digital photo taken with the Nikon Coolpix without any enhancement.
