Southland

Southland is the southern-most area of New Zealand. Being so far south, there is only ocean between it and Antarctica, so the weather can be a bit cool sometimes, but between cold southerlies it can be very pleasant.

There are photos from Stewart Island, New Zealand's third biggest island, and the sparsely populated and wild area of Fiordland elsewhere on this site, but this area concentrates on the main part of the province.
